We teach the process of writing a college application essay — the unique genre of creative nonfiction (CNF).
We lead students from a Common App essay question to a polished, submission-ready essay.
We empower students to apply this process to craft compelling essays for their supplemental essays & scholarships.
Writing Sessions Include
Four consecutive 120-minute group meetings with focused, step-by-step lessons on college essay writing.
Individualized attention and continual feedback with a maximum of 6 students per session.
Additional instructor check-ins outside of camp hours, including reading student work and making suggestions.
Final draft check will be done online between one to three weeks following camp.

These in-person summer writing camps in Sunnyvale (just east of Dallas) are designed to help students complete one of the most important parts of their college applications: the essay.
We work step-by-step through Common App Essay Question #2:
"The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?"
Students leave with a completed essay that they can use for both college applications and scholarships—since many scholarship prompts are similar.
